AVIF to JPG Converter

Convert AVIF images to JPG right in your browser.

Select an AVIF image to convert it to JPG. Conversion runs locally in your browser with the Canvas API, so your files never leave your device. AVIF decoding depends on your browser — most recent browsers support it. You can also work on several images at once: add up to 20 files, apply the same settings to all of them, and download the results one by one or together as a ZIP.

AVIF support depends on your browser — most recent browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) can read AVIF.

Your images are processed locally in your browser whenever possible.

How it works

  1. 1 Drop one or more AVIF images, or click to choose.
  2. 2 Choose a background color for transparent areas.
  3. 3 Adjust the quality slider to balance size and detail.
  4. 4 Click Convert, then download your JPG file — convert several at once and grab them all as a ZIP.
  5. 5 If your browser can't read AVIF, update it or try Chrome or Firefox.

Common use cases

  • Make images compatible with apps that reject AVIF.
  • Prepare JPG files for the web, email or documents.
  • Standardize a set of images to one format.
  • Convert a screenshot or photo without installing software.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. This converter works entirely in your browser, so your files never leave your device and nothing is stored.

Why won't my AVIF file convert?

AVIF decoding depends on your browser. Recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari can read AVIF; if conversion fails, update your browser or try a different one.

What happens to transparent areas?

JPG does not support transparency, so transparent pixels are filled with the background color you choose (white by default).

Can I do several images at once?

Yes. Add up to 20 images (25 MB each, 150 MB in total) and they are processed in your browser, a couple at a time so your device stays responsive. Each image gets its own download, and "Download all as ZIP" collects them into one archive. If one image can't be read, it is flagged on its own row and the rest are still processed.

Is it really free?

Yes — free, with no signup, no watermark and no limits.
